This is an outstanding program for Pre-School and Kindergarten children, taught by professional skilled teachers. These one hour classes include pre-ballet, tap, and creative movement with fun activities that teach coordination and motor skills. A class for the lively, imaginative, creative child who enjoys expressing themselves through music and movement. We celebrate birthdays and holidays and have special parent participation days.
At 6 years of age children are ready for progressive technique classes. This program offers two 45 minute concurrent classes in Primary Ballet Technique and Tap Fundamentals. They learn ballet barre and center exercises to develop their strength and abilities. Creativity and exploring musical rhythms is still an important part of these classes. Ballet Technique is based on the Children’s syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance.
Our tap classes are energetic and fun. Fundamentals of tap dancing are taught to the children, with emphasis on developing rhythms and musicality. Coordination skills acquired in tap class are proven to improve right/left brain function and Tap is a fun way to develop them!
Progressive tap classes continue in classic Broadway style, later introducing syncopation and Rhythm Tap at more Advanced levels.
The foundation of all dance techniques, ballet training develops poise, encourages good posture, and improves coordination and body core strength. We offer Progressive classes based on the Royal Academy Children’s Syllabus. Upon reaching Intermediate ballet, Pre-Pointe level students join classes to further their training to the Advanced level.
For students 8 years and older. Experience in Tap and Ballet is beneficial and encouraged. These classes will emphasize building strength, flexibility, coordination, musical dynamics and elevation. Jazz focuses on syncopations, body isolations and choreography. This is a fun and popular class for the students.
Modern dance develops complete body movement, emphasizing physical freedom and strength along with creative energy. These technique classes focus on the elements of time, space and energy through musicality, dynamics, floor work and artistic expression. Prior training in ballet is essential.
Hip Hop teaches isolated body movements, syncopated rhythms, coordination skills, and classic hip hop and jazz technique. These technique classes focus on the elements musicality, dynamics, floor work and artistic expression. This is a fun and energetic class designed to round out a students dance repertoire.
